Sue Farrer has incorporated a homeopathic approach to diagnosis and treatment planning in daily dental practice for over twenty years.
In 2007 Sue retired from chairside dentistry to pursue a second career in homeopathy and homotoxicology.
Sue is a founder member of the British Homeopathic Dental Association. She established the Dental Homeopathy course at Bristol Homeopathic Hospital Academic Unit and has been course tutor since 1997. Sue teaches, lectures and examines on dental homeopathy to DFHom standard.
As dental advisor to the Research Unit at Faculty of Homeopathy London Sue was co-author to a research paper published in April 2007. Current homeopathic research projects include an outcome study in periodontal disease.

Continuing interest in the importance of nutrition to good health has meant further study at Worcester University in Applied Clinical Nutrition which will enhance treatment planning.
What is homeopathy?
Homeopathy is an effective scientific system of medicine which assists the natural tendency of the body to heal itself. It recognises that all symptoms of ill health are expressions of disharmony within the whole person and it is the patient who needs treatment not the disease.
(Ref: SOH)Homeo – pathy means “similar suffering” which was cited by Samuel Hahnemann the founder of modern homeopathy over two centuries ago. Classical homeopathy is based on finite principles:
- Law of Similiars Treating” like with like”
- Totality of symptoms
- Minimum dose
- Dynamisation of the remedy
- Provings – the trialling of new remedies on healthy human volunteers
Common misconceptions
Some common misconceptions are to confuse homeopathy with herbalism and aromatherapy. Homeopathic remedies are pharmaceutically prepared from the plant, animal and mineral kingdoms and manufactured on an alcohol – water base. Homeopathic remedies are then serially diluted and “succussed” or dynamised.
Herbal preparations are traditionally prepared from plants and made pharmaceutically on a water base. Very often a herbal product will be in the mother tincture form and then diluted.
Homeopathic preparations work within minutes in an acute situation eg injury, fevers. Chronic ailments take longer to resolve, sometimes weeks to months – it depends how long the body has been out of balance.
What is Homotoxicology?
Homotoxicology is an integration of homeopathy and conventional medicine.
Homotoxicology was established by Hans Heinrich Reckeweg in 1960. He developed a classification of the body’s reaction to toxins. A toxin is a body poison.
“According to homotoxicology all the processes, conditions and phenonema that we describe as diseases are the manifestations of the body’s battle with poisons and its efforts to neutralise and excrete the poisons….” (Reckeweg HH 1976)
The resultant medicines are usually complex remedies and can deliver twelve or more medicines within one treatment.
What is Electro - Dermal Screening (EDS)?
The original work in EDS was carried out by Dr Voll in the 1930’s. He developed a system of measuring the resistance of over 36,000 different acupuncture points around the body. This system was called electroacupuncture according to Voll or EAV. This standardised knowledge was incorporated into developing generations of computerised software systems.
The Asyra process begins by taking energetic readings and measuring the body’s capacitive reaction. This is a non- invasive technique. Acupuncture points are not required. Customised frequencies relating to specific chemical toxins are put through the handmasses.

If any of the frequencies create a cellular disturbance to any energetic component, tissue, organ or body system the negative response will be registered by the body and detected by the Asyra software.
The comprehensive database filters and identifies those frequencies which are useful for restoring balance and then cross matches a remedy or product which will achieve homeostasis.
